The urban Jacket

We have developed a new jacket and we call it the Urban Jacket. It's one of those garments that you wear casually and stylishly over your polo, t-shirt or shirt as a kind of in-between jacket. Sporty and stylish. Its straight panels and many pockets make it really different from an ordinary jacket. 

A superfine comfortable jacket suitable for many occasions. Made without inner work so it wears like a cardigan, looks like a jacket and feels like a sweater. Again, we have developed a special collar and lapel to accentuate its quirkier casual character. As a result, it can be closed all the way to the top if desired. The jacket has only sleeve lining and is super lightweight. 

Easy & Stylish

For The Urban Jacket in winter choose cool materials like tweed, in summer linen or brushed cotton is a very good option. We also have undyed organic cotton in a canvas for you. 

The Urban Jacket wordt in the Lounge in Utrecht gemaakt door onze eigen kleermakers. Je kiest een stof uit, we praten over het model en dan beginnen we al direct met het knippen van de stof. Dit doen we met behulp van sjablonen van een jasje wat we eerder hebben uitgedacht. Tijdens het overzetten van het patroon op de stof (krijten) passen we het uiteraard op jouw maten en wensen aan. Het resultaat is een fantastisch authentiek jasje speciaal van en voor jou. Inclusief stof beginnen deze Urban Jacket bij €800.

The Impact on the Environment

Everyone hears something about the enormous water consumption and pollution involved in fabric production; especially cotton. For jackets, we usually work with merino wool. Nice and soft and refined. This wool often comes from Oceania and is not always sourced in an animal-friendly way. We deliberately ask for wool from non-cropped sheep.

The wool then takes a route through the laundry, dye mill, spinning mill, weaving mill, finisher, storage, manufacturer, distributor, store and consumer. Often on different continents. As you can imagine, this is quite stressful. We like to work with vertical merchants to reduce the number of movements and pay attention to natural dyes.

Traceable Wool

For example, we like to work with "Dugdale Ecology" fabrics. These are made from undyed wool from sheep from Yorkshire. The sheep walk outside so the wool is less contaminated and requires less cleaning. The wool is also spun, woven and finished there. We also have Traceable wool from Patagonia from Dormeuil. And we are working on Dutch wool from Braambrugge from the Knitwit Stable. We are also increasingly sourcing and buying linen from Belgium and organic cotton.

Rise the Occassion

Lentegarderobe

Afgelopen zaterdag liepen wij al in een linnen pak -;). Wat een heerlijke zonnige dag. Wij laten geen dag voorbij gaan om een linnen pak te dragen. En wij moeten inspireren immers.
